Quite disappointed with this.. wanted to use it to convert mpeg2 tVrecs to a smaller filesize. But after a bit of casting about, I cant seem to get sufficient quality out of it. This may be a function of the recorded files and maybe my lack of understanding of the parameters involved, but there appears to be no attempt to explain any of the trade-offs in encoding time vs filesize vs quality. They? seem to be saying "use the defaults" or figure it out for yourself. The defaults didn't give me the quality I am looking for. Oh well just buy more disks I suppose.
Didn't try on any DVD's.. so that could be where it excels. |
