The product represents the simplist and fastest method to author a simple DVD from DV input. If the requirment is to simply do this with a few basic transitions, menus and titles, then its the one for you. However, failures increase exponentially with the sophistication of the production. Yes, audio sych problems are major, especially if you try and handle analogue input, soundtacks can completely disappear if you add effects and other audio tracks, and DVD menus can become random. The work-arounds, which include making a rough AVI production from the vid footage demands large drives/NTFS. Unfortunately, I have to agree that these failures suggest a basically buggy package. Pinnacle does try to respond, but what they have achieved is thousands of very annoyed beta-testers. If you need compexity and stability, look elsewhere. But for me, with realtively simple needs, the simple interface will keep it as my primary editing package. |
