I've been waiting for a DVD authoring app that could build a DVD without reencoding a DVD-compliant MPEG2 file, and that could insert auto chapters at given intervals without building a menu, and that could keep AC3 5.1 channel audio intact. Simple DVD Creator fits that bill.
It took 13 minutes to demux my DVD-compliant MPEG2, and 23 more minutes to author the DVD on my dual-core AMD Athlon w/4 GB RAM. 36 minutes to build a DVD is not much faster than reencoding with ConvertXtoDVD, although non-reencoding guaranteed there would be no degradation of quality. It will also burn the VIDEO_TS folder with ImgBurn if you point it to the ImgBurn location on your hard drive. Overall I was very impressed by this app. |
