If you have come this far and have not made a decision as to what converter to use, look no further. Having shopped around, read enough technical info material to feel comfortable with at least 75 percent of the content, and even paying for one that boosted to be "faster than most competitors", I conclude that the results with this converter are by far the best on the market. There are absolutely no video jerks nor does the audio have any issues when the DVD is played back. The Guide (help) is to the point, and very easy to follow and understand.
I do, however, have two bits of info that I would like to share.
1. You must chose the size of the DVD disk that you will be writing to with some degree of accuracy. Use a 4.7 GB DVD for movies 2 hour or less (you might stretch to 2.5 hours without any great concerns). Use an 8.5 GB DVD-DL (Double Layer) for movies over 2 hours. DVD Flick will force a large file (3 hour movie) into the space of a smaller file (2 hour movie). Even though it can compress the larger files there will be some trade-offs in the process. Both 16:9 and 2:35 ratios will be converted to 4:3 ratio, by cropping the outer edges of the film. Movies such as "Rocky Balboa", "The DaVinci Code", and classics like "The Sound of Music", "Ben Hurr" and "My Fair Lady" loose the director and producers intent.
2. Check the save video and audio file boxes. This will allow you to view the conversion before you write it to your DVD or DVD-DL. If it's not what you want you will save a DVD disk for what you do want.
