First of all, I never use AutoGK. But I give it high marks for
ease of use/functionality based on reviews and the User Guide
Having said that, I will never trust any software that installed
spyware WITHOUT user knowledge in the past. It was not
mentioned in "Whats New" log. Even though the author mentioned
the spyware at the very end of the "User Agreement" during
installation, average users would not have read it all the way down especially the fact that AUTOGK is advertised as "FREEWARE".
This seriously erodes my trust with the author.
AUTOGK newest version doesnt forcefully install DAE anymore. DAE is now an option user can see and choose to install. This
is an improvement so AUTOGK has redeem itself somewhat.
However some users like me wonders what other spywares bundled
with AutoGK. Perhaps its clean now. Perhaps not. Dont rely
on the author to tell you. The author didnt tell you about DAE.
To convert DVD to Divx/Xvid use FairUse wizard
To convert MPEG to Divx use Dr. Divx.
If you know your way with torrent you can find "improved" version
