You cannot compare Shrink (no longer under any development) with Rebuilder - it is simply apples and oranges
Shrink simply removes video transform delta info inter-frame, so if you compress too much, you get macro-blocking - it's as simple as that
DVD-RB, in conjunction with an industry-leading encoder solution such as CCE totally re-encodes the MPEG-2 stream, (frame by frame) distributing the bits where the scene is at its most complex, thereby giving the most efficient representation of the video data in the target space allowed
obviously, macro-blocking effects are less visible on a small-screen TV
for my money ($10 US to buy DVD-RB Pro with free updates forever), there is only one clear winner if I want to compress something below 80-90% (to my eye) - DVD-Rebuilder! |
