Glitches in your recording means you're doing something wrong. I've had no problem with Audacity - right up to this latest release. I use it extensively, mainly for multitracking. It's a brilliant piece of free audio software. I'll take off a point, however, coz tho' it features "unlimited undo", you can only undo the last command (you can't go back, say, 5-10 steps & undo something you did back then). Also it doesn't compensate for your soundcard's latency, so when multitracking you have to manually align each track so they all play in sync. (This, however, is a common limitation in digital recording, I believe). Audacity doesn't support midi, but then I don't use midi so no big deal to me. I've compared it recently to Cubase, which I concluded was un-intuitive & unnecessarily complex - (all those steps just to "arm" a track ready for recording! bah!)... Audacity ROCKS!!! |
