Seems to be quite good. DVD MPEG-2 is already compressed enough as it is, so I'm not keen on transcoding it and dealing with the resulting generation loss. This app remuxes your selected AV streams into .mkv file without touching the AV quality, so you get exactly the same quality as you would if watching the disc. Exactly what I wanted and very easy to use. Prior to this I was trying to use XMediaRecode which can do the same thing in theory, but in practice I found it extremely buggy (crashes often, some streams can't be decoded) and remuxing is very slow for some reason (around 20MB/sec vs 300MB/sec). It remains to be seen whether the app can deal with all my discs though. |
