December 2019 - Just a small update about the new version 1.5.4 x64: congrats to the developers, this new version on my Intel system (Win 8.1 x64) finally is fast and reliable as MPC-HC 1.8.8 x64 (THE video player). The loading time of the new version is improved, seeking is also faster and more reliable, the internal filters work at the same level of reliability of the LAV Filters (sometimes more). On my system the standard white theme is much faster than the dark theme and menu. Also, MPC-BE has a new video renderer named MPC Video Renderer. It's young and in development, an evolution of the EVR Custom Presenter probably; 16 bit floating point calculations, D3D11 and D3D9 paths, Bicubic, Lanczos and Catmull-Rom video scalers for now. madVR remain the higher quality Windows video renderer, without a doubt. Thanks to the russian developers, really thanks. |
