i reimaged my operating system and reinstalled potplayer 64 bit version 1.6.52515
audio didn't work
i downloaded the latest version which overwrote my original. big mistake
the latest version is giving me an error "requires xp sp3". there is no sp3 for xp x64, only sp2
so there's something wrong. latest version won't install, install has no audio. so i looked up the version number and by sheer luck found this site. it was horrible having to sift through all the detritus to finally find what i was looking for. the download was flawless. i reinstalled this version on top of itself, and checked to make sure all the support files were enabled, and it worked! yesh! but this project wasted my whole morning. i feel somewhat older; a feeling of loss, that i could have done something more productive |
