Software: Video to Video Converter
User review: Before discovering this great product I'd been using DVD Flick and then AVStoDVD to create DVDs for any non-avi (e.g. flv and mp4) format files, but those programmes took so long (around 12 hours to create a full DVD) that I eventually realized that something that could simply convert the files to avi might be a lot quicker! Video to Video Converter is indeed a LOT quicker, with the conversions generally taking less than the actual play time of the file, so it's cut the time it took me to create playable DVDs down by a factor of five or six. And converting to actual DVD (mpeg2video), which can help increase the quality compared to avi, is pretty quick too. Plus there are none of the sound syncing problems that seemed to creep in sometimes with DVD Flick. It's also very handy for reducing the resolution of "oversize" avi's down to a size that's playable on a TV.

Overall it's pretty intuitive to use, but the instructions could be better, as some things require a bit of trial and error otherwise (for example, I had to do several burns to realize that the 16:9 option when converting to DVD/mpeg2 actually cuts off quite a lot from each side of the image, whereas the 4:3 ratio resulted in the desired full-width image. Counter-intuitive, eh!). I've yet to try out its other features and tools (I'm still using other rippers and burners), but for a video converter and DVD file creator this is the best I've found so far!
