I really wanted to like this program. It's simple to use, has a lot of nice features, etc.
Unfortunately, every attempt I made to generate a high quality encoding turned out unacceptable quality.
A 1080p to 720p project with a high profile and retaining grain showed weird crawling color splotches in areas. That was with a constant quality of 18.
I suspect the issue could be the resizer used by HandBrake, but you can't tune the resizer. I suppose I could have scrubbed the grain and gotten better results, but that wasn't my goal. |
