Version history / Release notes / Changelog

Everything happens. OGMRip has been in development for 10 years, the first version was released in November 2004, it is great time to release version 1.0!

This version includes mainly the correction of a major bug regarding support of some DVDs. This development branch will only contain bug fixes but no new features. In fact, I'm working on the next major release for some time. It is an almost complete rewrite of the code with the goal of being independent of the input: DVD of course, but files or bluray also. This new branch will present the opportunity to adopt a versioning similar to gnome: even minor numbers for stable versions and odd minor numbers for unstable versions. Besides the bug fixes in 1.0, the next version will then be a 1.9, the first unstable release in the 2.0 branch. You can already test this branch by cloning the git repository (git clone git:// ogmrip).

OGMRip is like a new acidrip. Since acidrip is no longer developed, I moved on to OGMRip. Has all the features I need for a DVD to xvid/x264/theora rip. Supports deinterlacing and pulldown, you can use ogg, mp3, aac, pcm, or the orignal for audio, with avi, mkv, ogm, and mp4 as the container. Uses mencoder to encode.

There isn't a way to open an ISO file using the gui, but if you launch if from the command line using

ogmrip /path/file.iso

It will open the ISO file just fine.

OGMRip includes these tools with it
