MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same volume. MP3Gain does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers do. Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud the file actually sounds to the human ear. Also, the changes MP3Gain makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding and re-encoding.

It is a great tool [alongwith AACGain].

I use it so often. Unfortunately, it is no longer developed. But, Thank you Mr, Developer.

Review by ConverterCrazy on May 3, 2023 Version: MP3Gain 1.2.5 OS: Windows 7 Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Does a fine job. Foobar is okay too for most audio, but I find it screws up the replay gain on ogg files and the metadata is never recognised on my external media player as well as android boxes. I never have this problem with Mp3Gain after normalising aac files with mp4a extension.

Review by ALM on Aug 16, 2020 Version: 1.3.4 OS: Windows 8 64-bit Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

Mp3gain does a great job, but could be faster. Sometimes I use foobar instead, because it could handle mp3 and aac/m4a files.

Review by JamesPous on Aug 15, 2020 Version: 1.2.5 OS: Windows 10 64-bit Ease of use: 9/10 Functionality: 9/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 9/10

Nobody has ever given this a review in all that time. Ingrates! It's a great program which I also use aac gain in it to very good effect by dropping it in and just renaming .exe. Thankyou for excellent program.
