The correct version number, as indicated by the program itself and its readme file, is 1.1. Although 15 years old by now, this program does exactly what it says: convert DV-AVI files between Type 1 and Type 2

Tools for converting DV type:
-"Enosoft AVI repair tool", a tool included with "Enosoft DV Processor" -->works at 100%
-Ulead DV Type 1 to DV Type 2 Converter --> if the files are big (>4 GB) audio gets corrupted with "shshshshsh" sound.
-Canopus_DV_File_Converter V1.0.2 --> if the files are big (>4 GB) aborts before ending.
-DVDATE V7.1 --> works OK but downsamples audio to 32000Hz. (Why??)

Only supports maximum file size of 5.6GB. Otherwise does the job quite well.

Works like a charm. Has all it takes to do the job, and nothing more. Thus far I have tested with a 300 MB file, I will report if I run into problems with files over 2 GB in the future.

A short summary of how the thing works: You select the source, and you select the target. Target format options:

CANOPUS CODEC
(1) Canopus Edit Compatible AVI (AVI 1)
(2) Canopus Reference AVI
(3) Premiere compatible Canopus AVI (AVI 2)

MICROSOFT CODEC
(1) Microsoft DV (AVI 1)
(2) Microsoft DV (AVI 2)

... followed by "Process" and "Exit".

In all its simplicity, a great tool. I gave 10 for features because it has all it takes. I hate tools with all the bells and whistles that suck when it comes to doing what the tool was originally meant for.

Program refused to convert my Type1 .avi file to Type2: got an error message aprroximately halfway through the conversion. Tried several more times and it failed exactly the same way... And no support documentation, either. Grrr.

...Uninstall time...!
