| Picked up one of these for £250. IEEE 1394 install perfect under windows 2000. Some problems with Nero5.5 (shipped with EasyCD Basic) but were solved after a quick flash of firmware from Pioneer's Euro website (A05/105 1.21). | The drive we just received is actually a 4x 2x 12x DVD-RW drive, a recent upgrade. The nice surprise was what was not advertised -- this is a Pioneer 105 burner in a LaCie box. Perhaps that explains the delay we experienced in receiving it. The case is nice and solid, with sleek lines and a good hard metallic-looking finish. This is a firewire and USB drive. We use this on a Mac (OSX) with DVD Studio Pro. We can burn directly to the disk without intermediary steps. There was no downloading of drivers or software needed, and the software that came with the drive so far is still in its shrink wrap. We love it!!! BTW, we just received a catalog advertising the drive for $299. Nothing like buying something and seeing it for 25% less a week later! Comments posted by Elisabeth from Other, March 07, 2003.
