Well, I gave this a try not expecting much, and it looks like I was right to be pessimistic - this technology has a number of obvious limitations. It is hard to get in-synch audio, or to get accurate color reproduction, aspect ratio and frame rate, nor can it preserve interlacing. It captures video in whatever format (scaled, deinterlaced etc) that a particular media player chose to render on a particular occasion. The resulting video isn't necessarily captured in a form best suited for compliance with any standard such as DVD (ie. regarding frame size and frame rate). So the only way to make a DVD would be to transcode yet again, by which time the video is at least a third generation copy.
It must be said that this tool DOES work, so if you are willing to fiddle with audio synch and your goal is just something you can play on your PC then you might be happy with it.
