This software does exactly what I need: an easy tool to backup DVDs. If the video needs to be re-compressed to fit 4.7GB, version 3.0 Beta5 will predetermine automatically the compression ratio for all the menus and the film. You might want to manually change some compressions here and there to allow for less compression on the main movie. The great thing is, if you change compression ratio for specific items such as menus and extras, DVD SHRINK will automatically adjust the compression ratio for the main movie. It's easy to use and very efficient. I agree with the previous comment: use the DEEP ANALYSIS function. It takes a bit longer to get the encoding going, but the results are great! I backed up 5 titles so far and they all look very good on my 16:9 Tv !!! I personally use IMGTOOL BURN to burn the backup (so easy, it's not even funny!), but you can also use NERO. DVD SHRINK 3.0 (BETA 5 is the version I have) is simply put an amazing software that does exactly what you want... for FREE!!! |
