I've probably tried all versions from 2.0 to 3.8, the idea is great everywhere! , especially with channel reassignment, I appreciated it with my Audient 44 mk2
But the crackling occurs with any buffer, and if suddenly for some reason you need to minimize MPC HC during idle time, just because you are listening to music and open the browser, such a crackling will start, horror and this is a commercial product for $ 60? Not a single update since 2020, I would warn against wasting money on this product that has not been brought to its logical conclusion.
