I found BD3D2MK3D when trying to find a way to play my 3D blu-rays on my Windows PC, specifically Kodi. As far as I could see it's just not possible as support for such things has been discontinued and removed. That's what lead me to BD3D2MK3D. This won't allow you to nativity play a 3D blu-ray, but it can convert it to a Full Side by Side file which is the next best thing. I used MakeMKV to convert to the disc to a 3D MKV file, and then used BD3D2MK3D to convert it to a Full Side by Side mkv file. You could also rip directly from a disc if you have a way to remove the copy protection on fly. That's about it really, the final file plays in Kodi wonderfully, I can't tell the difference in quality and it just works. Kodi will even let you play the file in 2D. Although I wish there was a way to just play the disc in 3D on Windows, this is a good alternative and I'm happy with the results. |
