I've been using Serviio now for 8 years, and I'm very pleased with it. I first began using it back in 2014 with Windows Vista and then switched over to Linux Mint in 2017 and then to Debian in 2020 (I'm still using the same computer as I was using in 2014, but switched Operating Systems since Vista lost support in 2017 and Linux Mint became too resource intensive for the 2007 computer). Serviio runs perfectly on the computer now with Debian. I love the mobile app and the Media Browser (Requires the Pro version, which is $25, a nice price for a one-time and it supports the developer). Also the 2.X versions allow users, so I can have different family members have their own assortment of music and listening history. The setup process on Windows is straight forward, but can be a little more tricky if you're using Linux. I do wish updates would be more often and that the plugins would have greater support. Other than that, Serviio is a terrific Media Server application. |
