Love the program, hate the dependencies especially the outdated Haali splitter which messes up HEVC decoding There are workarounds eg resetting media foundation to default. Other programs exist that are as good but also have issues. Handbrake is a decent alternative but it has as many faults including weird presets that changes frame rate to variable and by default burns in subtitles, not to mention forcing you to use ass subs (not widely supported on deices other than PC) over simple text. Also Handbrake doesn't use the latest libs for AVC or HEVC unless you use the nightly version which is also still behind by a bit. MeGUI over-complicates things with it's interface but works. Hybrid is unpredictable (sometimes crashes or just straight up fails to start) and also has a steep learning curve. So all in all, RipBot264 is flawed but I'd say 7/10 as it produces excellent results once it's up and working. |
