avidemux has improved of late I grant you that, but it does crash, no doubt there. Often the message in Windows using control alt delete shows 'this program is not responding' warning, then leaving it for a few minutes it starts encoding. Also if you decide to just (re)encode audio up, it gives a crazy output e.g mp3 you set in option prior, in an unrecognisable form so you have to go into Windows system options and add the extension .mp3 to your file so it is read properly. Also if you decide to just copy the video and output new audio it crashes in whatever container or muxer you use. This program is far from stable and to confirm it for myself I tested on xp, both 32/64 bit Win 7 as well and saw the same annoying bugs. Win 10 I never tested. |
