As usual, listening to people who only say "this program is garbage" does not tell the whole picture. Studio 8 is a very good capturing and editing program that has issues with rendering.
With that said, I have used the program to both make DVD's, SCVD's and VCD's. I have rendered all of them, although with varrying degrees of success.
Where this program excells, is with the editing and caturing functions. If you have compatible hardware, it is one of the better capture utilities. The capture is quite stable and it will automatically separate out your content by scenes which is invaluable when making simple edits.
The program has most basic titling, transitions, and editing functions. They are all very easy to use and don't require a lot of work to make a nice looking product. If you purchase the HollywoodFX package, then you will find that this is an above average editing product as there is little that you can not do.
I tend to use it for capturing and editing. Then when finished I use Tmpgenc to render and DVD author to burn. On the 8.10 version the product has come a long way. There are some bugs, but for the most part it does a good job. |
