I've always found this an excellent front end for ffmpeg. It's very easy to customize, modify or build presets allowing for batch encoding and simplifying command line modifications.
It's also easy enough to swap out different ffmpeg versions-- say "normal" ffmpeg and ffmbc to gain specific functionality. Though one should be aware that, given the ever changing nature of ffmpeg, the presets are optimized for the included version
