MKV Optimizer removes unnecessary audio tracks from selected MKV files. And that too automatically. Likewise, soundtracks can be recoded. To edit the MKV files MKVToolNix is needed. MKV Optimizer automatically searches for MKVToolNix in the MKV Optimizer folder as well as under the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" folder. If MKVToolNix can not be found, the path can be specified manually. For the recoding of the sound tracks the program ffmpeg is needed. The corresponding executable file is simply copied to the folder of the MKV Optimizer. Requires MKVToolnix!

Optimize
The program is self-explanatory so far. The folder to be searched can either be entered directly into the upper text field, dragged onto the text field or saved by clicking on the button with the three dots.
By default, all subfolders are always searched and only those files that have more than one audio track are considered.
If the path to MKVToolNix has been specified after the "Settings" tab, clicking on the "Search" button searches and displays all files in the specified folder.
In the field "Keep audio tracks with the following [language]" all found audio tracks are displayed. If you do not want an identifier (language), simply delete it from the field. If a MKV file has several identical audio tracks (GER (AC3), GER (DTS)), these can be filtered via the "Accept only the following audio codecs" field
If you select track ID, you can specify the appropriate ID for the respective track. The values are always separated by a comma.
The same procedure applies to subtitles,
With a double-click on the file, the GUI of MKVMerge is called.
In the list itself, the files to be converted are ticked. A context menu to mark all files is also available.
After selecting the MKV files and the desired sound tracks or subtitles, clicking on the "Convert" button triggers the conversion process. It is calculated per file as well as for the whole process how long it takes.

An excellent resource to hugely assist with batch encoding and deleting unnecessary metadata from MKVs easily. It just needs a chapter-deletion function as well to make it complete for me, so please add in a future update. Many thanks!

Really good, it works great for episodic rips of my discs, i rip many of them onto a 3tb drive (takes a while), then i use program to remux them taking out the excess (i find encoders work better when the source is as clean as it can be)
the program itself is basic, but really does good, the last update the author did stopped the crashing (this was quite breaking)
theres little to say really, the program does what it does well, it's reliable and i hope that it continues to get periodic updates to fix any breakages that may occur.
big thanks to the author.
p.s. for future proofing, maybe release this on github and make it open source?
