Shrink (transcode) MPEG-2 files using Rejig

This guide walks you through the steps required to shrink (a.k.a. transcode) an MPEG-2 file using Rejig. This method is an alternative to authoring your DVD then using DVDShrink, DVD2One or any other DVD-transcoding application. The output of this guide is an M2V file and an audio file, ready to feed into your authoring software. If you plan to keep this file solely for playback on your computer, you can multiplex the files together to make an MPEG file.

Rip and add new Subtitles to a DVD with SubtitleCreator

Based on my previous guide using srt2sup, which was very popular, I updated it to describe my own tool, SubtitleCreator, which allows you to do many of the things that srt2sup can, but is open source, has advanced synchronization features, reads *.sub files as well, and uses the original IFO file for the color palette. Give it a go, and let me know what you think of it.

How to edit DVD,DVD-VR, DVD+VR / How to convert DVDs back to MPG for reauthor or editing

If you have authored a DVD and you want to reedit or reauthor it without reconverting it again then just "convert" the DVD VOBs back to a MPG file or MPEG2, AC3, MPA, WAV elemantary streams(called demultiplexing) for easier editing and authoring. Some tools can also import DVD VOB files directly without converting to MPG files.
