Just wanted to add a recent positive comment. The PVR makes outstanding recordings from HD DVR content (I am using it for DVR transfers). Burn to AVCHD or use tsRemux to burn direct to BD. Near identical quality to source at 13.5 mbps constant bitrate. Software (Total Media Extreme 2) has a couple of problems but hopefully will get fixed. (Right now cannot author AVCHD title longer than 1:40:00) but there are other tools out there. Will report back if fixed. As a hobbyist, the HP-PVR works almost perfectly. Windows 7 works great with TME that came with the device just let it update itself, not need to upgrade to TME2. Although highly compressed, the video looks outstanding. Rendering to MP4 after editing looks very good too. I use Smart Cutter for editing the M2TS and TS files. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Smart_Cutter_Ps_Ts Presently I store/play all recording's on Hard Drives but a Blu Ray recorder is coming. Just wanted to say it is working with Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. I am archiving the TMC movies from my Directv box and using 720P. I just recently recored the Grammy Awards that aired a few months ago ... 3.5 hours long and audio did stay in sync. YEA ! Excellent device for the price. The capture quality far exceeded my expectations. HD 1080i captures at DVD bit rates look nearly identical to the original source. The newest drivers now allow for capturing Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. Audio/video sync is perfect. The software is still catching up to the hardware. Editing is still a bit tricky - but converting files directly to Blu-Ray compatible AVCHD is quick and requires no re-encoding. This is a great solution for backing up video from component sources.
