This software is the Best. I use it to create DVD from DVR recorded programs. I also use it to fix screen ratio problem. I am using version 2.5.2 because the codecs in the new version don't work with the software I have, Pinnacle Studio 12, and DVDLab Pro 2.0 otherwise I would upgrade (tried but had many issues). So everyone is complaining about AV sync issues, well guess what it is not AVIDEMUX causing the issue. If you don't believe me then that is for you to research, because I have researched it. I found this out most computer CPU's over 1.5 Ghz can handle audio and video with very limited issues, if the codec is present the software player finds the codec it decodes and plays that simple. But when edit there is a piece that is put into the mix that we don't see or even think about. You see the Audio and Video when recorded has AV sync issues already, they are just masked by the decoder and sound driver and HW layer. Now as you increase the CPU speed you also increase the bus speed. This in turn also increases the interface card bus frequency. Thus a unnoticeable AV sync now become more noticeable. Using Encoding and Decoding software only further increases the problem. So the solution. You see audio is in terms frequency base and shifting or adjusting any frequency when dealing with audio cans induce harmonics that we cannot detect or even realize that they are there. And when coupled to video which has a high frequency can also cause this inducing factor. Okay so you are wondering what the solution is right?
Okay here it is.
Most sound card manufactures use a shift sample in the input stage of the sound-card and then use a de-sampling frequency in the output. In most cases this is not audible to use and can be masked by the sound driver and HW Layer, this includes all on board sound chips, and most low end sound cards. I have corrected my AV sync issue by using 2 sound-cards, one is a legacy card that does not have the input shift sample (Creative Sound Blaster 16 PCI original CT4430) and the the second is a Realtek HD on board sound-card. Now the trick, in BIOS you have and option to set the PCI clock for each card on the PCI bus, most are set to Auto 32 CLK. With the Sound Blaster in PCI slot A. I set the bus CLK to 16 and remove auto and set the freq for that bus to be 16MHz all other are set to the default by using the Auto and record the setting and then manually entering the setting. It takes awhile to get all if you have multiple PCI cards. Once done set the default audio to Sound Blaster and your done. I use Media Player Classic and use it the output to the Realtek HD audio through pin configuration. And I have tried the with version AVIDemux 2.5.2, 2.5.3, 2.5.4 and will test with 2.5.5. This does not get rid of the AV sync you never will it just allows the software to handle and mask it better. |
