After install I tried to launch it, but it seems it was missing Msvbvm50.dll. After getting the file from the internet, program opens into fullscreen mode, the exit fullscreen button is grayed out. The only way to get out of fullscreen is by dragging the window bar, whereupon it resizes to a barely usable window, with adjustable border function completely missing. This is the problem, UI wise.
Function wise, I tried to open an SSA file. Immediately I get "4 lines were not recognised, and were discarded", with no full stop. Click OK, I get "This is a Sub Station Alpha v4.00 script. To play it correctly, please visit:xxx ... and upgrade to the latest version." (Here we have the full stop.) Don't bother. It's a dead site. Click OK. The Chinese sub comes up as gibberish. |
