this software is wonderful, it maybe getting old, but it is still far superior in quality to nearly all other converters out there (ASP codecs only, NOT AVC codecs)
to achieve maximum quality, you need to put the Quality Slider in options to MAX
[Encoding Speed] mode,
be warned, maximum quality will push the DivX/Xvid codec to it's very limit (DivX seems to be able to be pushed more than Xvid) and in doing so will sigificantly slow the encode down,
if you set the Quality slider to MAX, then encoding will take 3 times as long, but the quality will be well worth it,
and for the record, AutoGK doesn't come close to fairuse wizard in sense of quality, AutoGK as said by the developer himself does a compressibility check, and balances quality vs speed,
in other words, AutoGK will not push the codec to it's limit just to gain an extra 15% in quality but adding 85 to 150% in encoding time, AutoGK was not designed for maximum quality, that's what GKnot was for.
it should be said though, AutoGK is a lot older than Fairuse Wizard,
also Fairuse wizard allows direct control of codec settings, and has a quality slider setting which manipulates the codec mode DivX and Xvid has many variables and settings that can be adjusted, fairuse wizard can adjust settings to the codecs to achieve a higher quality video but at a significant cost to encoding time.
AutoGK DOES NOT have the ability for the user to control encoder quality settings, this is decided by AutoGK, which always takes into account encoding speed.
