I've been using Pinnacle since the Pinnacle 400.
Up to now I was a Pinnacle Fan.
Studio 8 was and is a dissappontment. Really liked the idea that I could do menus etc., for DVD's.
Problems right from the start.
I even bought the full version rather than an upgrade version.
I keep checking their help forum and it is a busy place with people still having problems.
I'm waiting for Studio 9, with the thought that maybe they have Studio 8 fixed before they come out with a new version.
My solution is to keep using Studio 7 which is stable but doesn't do DVD's.
The only thing that I can figure is that the software is trying to do too many things.
For DVD's I use Ulead Video Factory, and it does what I want it to do. Simple and straight forward. Although it doesn't like to burn the DVD's. For that I use Gear Software.
I've come the conclusion that it is better to have one piece of software do one aspect, such as editing, another to do the DVD menus and another to burn the blanks.
Getting the right color and contrast in my videos, good sound and paying attention to composition is enough of a challenge for me. I don't need endless software headaches.
