The reason why I tried this program was because I wanted to convert some ogm/mkv files to mp4 for my ipod. although this program does not automatically convert it to the ipod format(nor is it made to do that), It does offer a outstanding conversion into avi format so I can use a normal avi conversion program to carry on the rest of the job. While all the blanks and options can get a bit confusing, it is not very hard to figure out if you put in maybe 2-10 minutes the first time of figureing out what each option does. It also allows a wide variety of choosing between different audio channels and subtitles embedded inside the file to be put into the final product(it doesn't allow you to have dual audio though, which I dont mind because neither can I choose that on ipod). the finished product is smooth and in perfect sync. I did have to do a little trial and error with the subtitle fontsize though to get it to the correct size I wanted (it can be too big or too small). other than the slight difficulty in operations, the quality of this player is great. If you really have trouble you might consider reading through the guide which is included in the install file. Considering that this is a free program, the results are above and beyond my expectations. I think this is the best converter I have used yet. |
