I got PS8 about a year ago, about $20 after rebate. I tried like crazy to build VCD and SVCD or even a decent Make movie mpeg on a Windows 98SE system. It was fraught with system hangs and glitchy movies. It was pretty much junk.
A year later, I bought a DVD burner and a friend told me to try the latest update. I now have 8.8.x on a Windows XP system. THIS TIME, I was able to put together a DVD compilation in under an hour and create a DVD (using Nero 5.5.10.50 to burn) in about two hours.... I worked GREAT!
If you can get it for cheap and are producing DVDs on a Windows XP system with a decent processor, then I recommend it. If you are doing "Make movie" on a Windows 98 system.... skip it. |
