This is an excellent program which delivers quality results in your conversions. I compared the output from this program with that of AutoGK, and I have to admit the results from FairUse Wizard were superior. The video was sharper, and retained better detail overall. I honestly can't think of a better program than this if you want to make high quality Divx or Xvid files.
The only gripe I have is that if your source files are stored on your hard drive, FairUse wants them to be in the ISO format. This is unfortunately completely unnecessary. All this does is to add a needless extra step and is a complete waste of time. I have DVD compliant videos stored on my drive and whenever I want to compress them into an Xvid or Divx avi format, I am first forced to bundle these files into the ISO format.
I find this extra step, which FairUse requires, useless, burdensome, and extremely irritating. No other DVD to avi converting programs out there require this unnecessary and ridiculous step.
I gave this program an 8. It would have earned a 10 from me if they had dropped the ISO source file requirement and let me load DVD folders normally, and not make me waste my time on an extra step. Well, maybe in the future they will, like all other programs, allow us to load the files normally. Then this program will really earn a 10 out of 10. |
