GOOD: Very intuitive. Very fast (realtime) for many effects, fades etc. Excellent mpg1/2 & DV encoders. Excellent handling of audio, including realtime stretching/time compressing without pitch change. Handles 5.1 audio, including createing psuedo 5.1 from stereo. Edits DiVX & wmv files. Includes many FX/Filters including color correction tools. Great support and user community.
Not so Good: Program is slow when it has to resample video, for resize etc. Outputs 5.1 audio as 6 mono files or wmv - need expensive plugin for AC3. Mpg1/2 encoder from Mainconcept has conflict problems with other software and windows. Text handling & rendered qual not as good as some others. Not many plugins avail. Can have prob. importing/editing/rendering from many mpg2 files depending on encoding. No analog capture. As recently bought by Sony, future availability &/or updates questioned by some. |
