I use both VLC Media Player and Video Lan. The new VLC beta has nice features but one quirk I like in Video Lan is I can boost the volume when playing ISO images prior to burning, without adjusting
the Windows Volume control. It's just very convenient. So I'd say
don't discard the old version! :)
