Studio 8 is software with great features BUT it has so many stability bugs that your initial out of box experience will be very frustrating. You have to work around many of these bugs and eventually it will work. I have a high end Pentium 4 2.66Ghz, 1 GIG RAM, two 100GIG hard drive system and high end ATI Radeon AGP card.
On one end, software features are good and very nice integration of video capture/DVD authoring/editing disk creation and very nice inclusion of transions. It can be had at a good deal... mine $70 including fireware PCI card and firewire cable.
On the other end, it has so much bugs that it can be very frustrating to use it. Initial end user experience will be frustrating even on a high end system. What it requires from you is ... lots of patience.
In my opinion, after going thru the initial pain of creating your 1st DVD and learning the tool and it's bugs, your 2nd DVD wont be as painful as you work around the bugs. As far as rating, initially it's 3/3/3 and 3 as overall score. Once you figure out the bugs and work around it, then 7/7/7/7
I'm a Windows developer and I believe the quality of this software is BETA quality and it is APPALING that Pinnacle would release this as a final product. PINNALCE must FIX these bugs!!!
