Not only is this a great program, it taught me the processes involved in producing "things" IE: DVD, VCD, SVCD. I have a USB capture Device. My DVD projects were mediocre at best. Not to go over all things I've learned, but waht I used to di is this: Capture from VHS to harddrive. Build a DVD to harddrive w/ MyDVD 5.0 Deluxe and use DVD shrink so it would fit to 1 DVD+r. The results were not impressive. Now I'm happy. After building a DVD on my harddrive w/ MyDVD, I use DVD2SVCD to re-encode my project and what I'm left with is a Video_TS folder that can be imaged and burned onto 1 DVD+R. The difference in time between DVD Shrink and DVD2SVCD is insignificant, DVD shrink takes 30 minutes. DVD2SVCD takes 12 hours (but letting it process overnite, who cares I'm sleeping!!! nd the proccesses are auto matic!!!). The quality is extremely significant!!! My results w/ DVD2SVCD leaves me with a final Video_TS folder that is 10 times better than w/ DVDShrink. You would not think that I like DVDShrink. I use it and like it! Enough said!!! |
