Acording to the quote at the bottom of the Allopass payment screen, anyone is free to download and distribute copies of the Fairuse program. Here's the quote:
"A program is free software if users have all of these freedoms. Thus, you should be free to redistribute copies, either with or without modifications, either gratis or charging a fee for distribution, to anyone anywhere"
Maybe someone can spring for an Allopass, download the program once a week, then post it here on VCD Help???
I don't mind paying something for the program, even though it is certainly a work in progress. I don't want to have to go through the trouble and security risk of paying $2 every other time I download the program, however. As someone else mentioned, I'd much prefer paying $10 - $15 for the right to download any future versions for the next year or so.
PS- Who the heck is allopass anyway? I searched for them on Google and came up with a bunch of porn sites. That doesn't inspire much confidence in giving them my credit card. |
