Using a custom Matrix like Fox will most likely choke up your DVD player and never play. Via an Android box or suchlike media player no problems I think. I'd go for Q2 for total quality though, but would be a bigger file compared to h264 encodings. There is also a modded Jawor Xvid 1.4 over at codecs.com which is excellent too.
Xvid for me still gives an authentic look to films and never looks as waxy smoothed out as some h264 encoding I'd done. H265 is even worse for this! Xvid handles film grain and details much better. Lots of films are ruined on blu-ray by destroying the color palette and removing too much grain. Xviud cannot compete for the newer AVC/HEVC codecs' compression abilities but can certainly hold its own for quality! |
