I have heard and read for some time now about DivX, XviD and MPEG4. I finally decided to try the XviD codec that comes packaged with Gordian Knot (version 1 beta 3, june 2003), based on the codec comparison done by doom9.org and others opinions. Very very very nice results, for sure. The only draw back so far was the configuration for 1-pass and 2-pass and other parameters that I have no idea what they mean. I just set it up using the doom9.org XviD guide. I did a Tarzan (animated 1hr 28min) and a college football game (1 half = 1hr 20min). Quality replication was very good. It worked on my WinXP laptopp and Win2K Pro desktop.
I am sure my scores will go up, a I learn it a bit more. So far so good. |
