I find this to be an excellent tool. The results are simply excellent. Over a period of tile I have migrated from Avidemux to Handbrake to the current version. I would have given it a 10 except for the fact that the user interface is not intuitive and neither is the on line help really helpful. I learned to use this after experimenting with several short video files.
Avidemux does an excellent job of resizing and sharpening with xvid-mpeg4 but is really bad at audio sync and handling X256 codec. Handbrake does a very good job but is bad at resizing, say from 1080p to 720p. This software does really well on both accounts. It also has sharpen filter for ffmpeg absent in Handbrake. Even single pass encodes are very good.
I have been using this for the past 10 days and must say it passes with flying colors. I do have to do some post processing like converting from mp4 to mkv and to add srt subtitle files using mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix. Perhaps this already has the same functionality but haven't figured it out yet. In any case it is a very small inconvenience.
I would give it a full 10 if they can make the user interface more intuitive and easier to use. |
