An addendum to my last post: I tried it again with an older version of Win FF portable (1.4.0). I've uploaded the result here. http://edu-net.net/media/video2video/00000_WinFF.mp4
I had the program set on the second-best quality (very high). As you can see, it recognized the original size of the film (1440x1080), and the quality is about as good as Video to to Video at the highest quality. And please note the difference in the file sizes: V2v -> 470mb; Winff -> 112mb.
Just for the record, the very best combination of conversion quality and file size was done by the commercial program Corel VideoStudio Pro X4. You can't compare it, though, because - as I've mentioned - it's not free. Having said this, you can get the old version I'm using for about $20 these days. |
