First, I have to say this is the BEST code pack ever and it should be rated higher! It's free and also works better than the ones that charged. The K-Lite Codec Pack play just about every codec files. I mostly use it to watch divx coded files. After installing it, I also have no problem using Windows Media Player 9 to watch encoded divx file unlike someone previously mentioned (maybe he should try new vers and make sure his Window Media Player 9 is updated?). I highly recommend however using the cool and slick ^^ BSPlayer instead for those of you who dislike the Media Player Classic interface or prefer a much cleaner looking player then Windows Media Player 9. BSPlayer can be found in the the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack vers 1.25 which can be downloaded from the main website link. The K-Lite Mega Codec Pack vers 1.25 is essentially a K-Lite Codec Pack 2.41 Full version with additional features such as QuickTime Alternative 1.42, Real Alternative 1.32, BSplayer 1.22.817 and FFDShow build 2005-02-16. By the way, all these features can be installed optionally. For me, the installation process went through smoothly. Uninstalled seems to work just as well for the full program or features otherwise such as such as QuickTime Althernative and Real Alternative. I have to say though, these features are really worth keeping. Once you installed you will no longer need QuickTime Player or the overly 'bloated' Real Player. This is a awesome tool! 10 all the way! ^^

I am happy to say that the KLite codec pack seems back on track. At least for me, this new version(2.27) installs perfectly and works great. The last version was like dropping a hand gernade into my pc, this one is pretty nice.

Are these even the same guys anymore? Ever since 2.24 this codec pack has been spotty at best. I just tried to use 2.26 just to give them the benefit of the doubt. Bad idea. The codecs ONLY work with media player classic. They wont work for WMP 6.4, or wmp9. And whatever divx codec they install is non standard or installed wrong because it hardly works. I like media player classic alot but it doesnt have the better brightness controls WMP9 has so I want the option to use it if I choose. I installed it the way they say to, uninstall the previous version, then install. So far heres the issues I found with it 1. Installer will sometimes randomly freeze. 2. Doesnt remove registry mess when it leaves. I had to do that myself. 3. Installs poor quality divx decoder. 4. The codecs installed only seem to work for Media Player Classic. As a personal note to the programers. Programmer to programmer, you guys do a nice job and have a great goal for this. Its much better than chasing down 50 odd codecs that are all over the net, just the recent implementation is off somewhat it seems.

This thing SUCKS! The previous codec pack was WAAAAY better. This thing does all sorts of odd stuff. It uninstalled quicktime, realplayer! I had to go through and reinstall both. Whoever made this obviously went to the microsoft school of programming.

Excellent little pack here. Just one little problem:- the AC3 Decoder supplied doesn't work with most authoring programs, so you'll probably need 'AC3 Filter'.
