I've spent the last two years trying to get my money's worth out of this software, but it seems an impossible task since I keep ending up spending more money on updates, plugins, and upgrades to my own system that are promised to solve all my problems. For the past year I've been working with an all-new system specifically chosen to work with Studio, and still it keeps coming up with new bugs to stump me. Besides the fact that it crashes about once every half hour (and this on three different systems,) hangs during rendering, and the dvd import function has never worked, it also likes to randomly pick effects and transitions to mess with. Like one week, the transitions will flicker, or another, the zoom option will keep disappearing and reappearing from the features menu. These are the kind of features that draw consumers to the product, because few if any other editing programs seem to offer such a level of editing control--but beware, just because Studio offers, doesn't mean it delivers. Like a hydra, every time one problem is "resolved" or worked around, another sprouts its ugly head. The support is clueless and I don't really blame them because with all the different kinds of bugs to keep track of they are probably dealing with new ones every day. I do blame Pinnacle, which should not be allowed to earn money off of this software without accountability for the endless hours, dollars, and yes, even priceless home video, it has wasted. |
