While this program works correctly, it is quite pricey for what it does, and other freeware programs (like PgcEdit) can basically do the same things, although with more work.
My real problem with this program is the use of a "Computer ID" to download the program. This "Computer ID" is unique to the hardware & software to the computer the program will run on, and requires the download of a "little utility to determine ID of your computer". You have to enter the "Computer ID" to download the program. Additionally, "ID of your computer can change when you change hardware in your computer or reinstall/upgrade OS." So every time you make a change to your system, you have to get a new ID, and download the program again.
The fact that none of this is mentioned until after the program has been paid for is just not the way to do business.
While I can understand a programmer's desire to be paid for his work (I am a programmer too), this jumping through hoops to have use of a program I paid for is unacceptable. I never would have bought the program if I knew about this restriction. |
