Dissapointed to say the least. Since Circuit City had it on special for $49 I thought I'd give it a shot to make some transfers from Laser to DVD. I'm using an ATI TV Wonder VE, the cheapo unit. My experience was horrible. First off, it is limited as to what it can work with for an analog capture device... it captured with the ATI but only in VCD resolution. The manual says if you can't capture the way you'd like then try other alternatives and use 9 for your editing and burning. That's where things went to hell. During editing and many attempts to burn all I got was a big waste of time because of crashes and hang ups. I'm now working with the Ulead #8 and it captures wonderfully with the ATI. and although I haven;t tried a dorect burn yet, I have been able to convert the project into DVD files that I have burned with Nero and my fussiest standalones are playing them nicely. I returned the Pinnacle #9 for refund. It is to be avoided. Check out my comment on Ulead in that section of this site. |
