I found the UI a bit confusing and amaturish. Often hitting "next" actually takes you back to prior screens. Works OK once you get the hang of it and understand the program flow...but...menu creation seems to be an all or nothing afair. If you choose to have a menu, I couldn't figure out how to have a title only menu instead of title plus sub menus with chapter thumbnails that it insisted on. The point was moot once I found out (drum roll) that audio is rendered BADLY out of sync when creating an AC3 encoded DVD. It seemed OK if you want to stick with PCM.
Parts of the program are obviously outsourced or at least facsimilies of other programs. Editing very much resembles Arcsoft Showbiz, the DVD player apears to be PowerDVD with Nero's name on a new skin.
This software is very much a work in progress at this point in time and is disapointing in comparison to Nero's work in other areas. I gave it 5's across the board 'cause it seems like it's half the program it aspires be. |
