This is just supplement to my earlier post.
Once any particular job is finished the software releases (unlocks) both the source and destination files. One can reuse them in additional windows without any problem. I used to find it a bit irritating that I could not add files to the queue but one can open multiple copies simultaneously. One needs to keep in mind that H/X264 codec converter is multithreaded and will tend to hog the CPU cycles. Unless your machine is powerful enough you might find all other processes really slow down. For this there is a very easy and effective solution in the form of a freeware software named BES available at http://mion.faireal.net/BES/. This too allows multiple copies to run. I haven't had the time to thoroughly test all aspects and features of the software as I am in the process of converting 5 TB worth of mpeg4(ASP)+AC3 video to smaller AVC/AAC. Will come back with additional comments if I have any! |
